EPEX 2nd Album Youth Chapter 2: Youth Deficiency
EPEX is making a comeback with the second album [Youth Chapter 2: Youth Deficiency] of the Youth Trilogy regular album.
If the first regular album, 'Youth Days,' released in April 2024, contained the stories that EPEX wanted to tell young people as youth, the problems and concerns they faced, and their purest love stories, standing in the middle of youth, the second regular album, 'Youth Deficiency,' deals with the complex stories of deficiency that start because they are young, and the stories of fulfilling deficiency according to each moment's choice.
As it is an album full of music expressing the essential deficiencies faced because they are young, the choices that react to them, and the mindset of the youth regarding this, it is hoped that it will be a great comfort and empathy to the youth living in the same era.
1. UNIVERSE
The title track [UNIVERSE] is a song containing a clear message that I choose my universe and that universe must be you. The shuffle-style beat and unique arrangement style, as well as the direct and powerful melody, are characteristic.
Korean Lyrics by danke, Hezen(Music Cube), Yoo So-hyun(lalala studio), Maryjane(lalala studio), 3!(lalala studio)
Composed by KZ, HONEYSWEAT, Be'O
Arranged by HONEYSWEAT
2. My Girl
It is EPEX's unique love song with impressive sweet but honest lyrics containing the story of confessing courageously, although awkward because they are clumsy in love. You can feel the vibrant atmosphere of the R&B hip-hop genre with a groovy bassline, intense pads, and pluck synths.
Korean Lyrics by Kim Su-jeong(Music Cube), danke
Composed by Anthony Pavel, JBACH, Kaelyn Behr, Rudy Sandapa, MZMC
Arranged by Styalz Fuego, Rudy Sandapa, MZMC
3. Romantic Girl
[Romantic Girl] is a song that expresses the curious feelings about the opposite sex with a unique charm that is not easily understood. It is a song that playfully unravels the appearance of being conscious of her, who seems to be living in 1997, and gradually liking her, and I am also resembling her. The dreamy guitar riff in the intro and the heart-fluttering beat are impressive.
Korean Lyrics by danke, Lee Ji-yeon(lalala studio)
Composed by KZ, Kim Tae-young, DINT, MLC, Donny Montell
Arranged by KZ, Kim Tae-young
4. It is what it is
[It is what it is] is a song containing the message that the state of deficiency of emptying out rather than filling up can be better at times. It is a story that letting go, like "That's just how it is. What can I do?", is rather necessary for the youth of today. The popping synth line and the fairytale-like beautiful song development, as well as EPEX's bright and cool chant, provide cheerfulness.
Korean Lyrics by danke
Composed by KZ, Nthonius, Meisobo, DINT
Arranged by Nthonius, Meisobo
5. Attosecond
[Attosecond] is an attosecond, which is one quintillionth of a second. It is a song that talks about the preciousness of youth passing by in a fleeting moment, and the composition of the song with great contrast doubles the funkiness.
Korean Lyrics by Park Ji-woo(ONCLASSA), Three idiots(lalala studio), danke
Composed by KZ, Kim Tae-young, Be'O
Arranged by KZ, Kim Tae-young
6. Wonderful Daily Life
[Wonderful Daily Life] deals with the wonder of trivial daily life that is overlooked and contains the message that the discovery of small miracles in ordinary moments can fill the deficiency of youth. It is a drum and bass genre song, and the dramatically unfolding song composition is characterized by a fast BPM.
Korean Lyrics by danke
Composed by KZ, Kim Tae-young, Albin Nordqvist
Arranged by KZ, Kim Tae-young
7. About Lost Things
[About Lost Things] is a song about the loss of youth. It is a rock genre song with an intense sound that contains the message that regrets are repeated as if they are lost forever, but on the other hand, this deficiency grows youth.
Korean Lyrics by 3!(lalala studio), Kim Min-jae(ONCLASSA)
Composed by KZ, Kim Tae-young, DINT, Okhan Uenver
Arranged by KZ, Kim Tae-young
8. Loner
It is a song containing the message that everyone is lonely anyway, and rather than rejecting that loneliness, it is better to accept it gladly. It is a song characterized by a hopeful melody line that starts with a rhythmic performance on the piano.
Korean Lyrics by danke, Lee Hye-jun(ONCLASSA)
Composed by KZ, Kim Tae-young, Be'O
