IDID The 1st EP [I did it.]
– The beginning of IDID, who shouted for existence before proof
Everyone has a first time. But they are different from the beginning. They move towards the spotlight with an attitude that is not confined to frames or standards. Intuition rather than answers, instinct rather than plans. IDID runs in its own way from the start. A team that makes imperfection brilliant. IDID was different from the start.
Their first album 'I did it.' passes through the most essential texture of the moment of 'ephemerality'. The conviction that you can be cool even if you are not perfect, the attitude of making imperfection brilliant. The seven boys create the team's identity by taking out unrefined emotions and energy, and moments they experienced and felt in their own way.
- Splendidly at will: A way of unrefined freedom
The title song 'Splendidly at will' is the starting point of the team IDID. A cheerful rhythm and refreshing melody intersect over a heavy hip-hop base, drawing an unstoppable and confident direction. A song that expresses the romance of pushing emotions without refining them and going straight with the attitude itself. "Even if I fall and get hurt, that's also me" This one line is IDID's identity.
The music video weaves scenes together by capturing 'fleeting emotions' and 'momentary atmosphere' without a fixed narrative. A state of being more sincere than anyone else, even though no one told them to. Members sitting on the floor and laughing aimlessly, shouting and running, splashing and getting wet, filling a summer day like that. Expressions rather than words, sincerity rather than poses. What's more important than the SNS challenge is that the day was really sincere. 'Splendidly at will' records those moments of conviction in a pleasant, free, and recklessly cool way.
- I did it. : 8 signals where the moment becomes romance
This album is not a simple list of B-sides, but a flow of eight emotional moments connected. Each song has a different mood and texture, but there is one commonality at the center. Raw emotions, unprocessed energy. Rather than hiding emotions, they spoke with rhythm, and rather made imperfection a style.
The pre-debut song 'STEP IT UP' is a track that most directly shows IDID's instinctive energy and confidence. 'SLOW TIDE' delicately depicts the waves of emotion, and 'ImPerfect' acknowledges the imperfect self and draws confidence from within. 'So G.oo.D (I like you so much)' contains an honest attitude towards the fiercely boiling emotions, and 'STICKY BOMB' expresses the inner self just before it explodes urgently and seriously without exaggeration. 'A Moment to Pierce Dreams (飛必沖天)' and 'A Blooming CROWN' show the earnestness that has been built up through the reality of survival once again.
- The instinct of the next generation — New standards created by IDID
In terms of color, IDID is a team that wears cool summer ice blue and sparkling silver. The sound that adds emotional vibrations on top of a clear and transparent mood lives and breathes throughout the visuals and performance. It's kind yet edgy, and sensual yet impromptu. IDID is now setting its own rules within K-POP.
'I did it.' is not a perfect first step. Rather, it is a recklessly brilliant 'now' documentary that most accurately records the emotions and attitudes of this moment. And those emotions are the most intense exclamation point that they throw at today's K-POP.
