Beethoven Sonata delivered when you are halfway through life
Violinist Kim Hyun-mi's second album <Reflection> of the complete Beethoven Violin Sonata recording project, who has lived a life on strings, is released.
This album includes Beethoven's Violin Sonata No. 7, which is very dramatic and passionate, Sonata No. 10, Beethoven's last violin sonata and foreshadowing Beethoven's late style, and five pieces from Prokofiev's ballet music "Cinderella" arranged for violin and piano by Maxim Fichtenholz.
Violinist Kim Hyun-mi, who is a professor at Korea National University of Arts, is a founding member of Quartet 21, founded in 1991, and is also the music director of the Korean Chamber Music Society. She recently formed the chamber music group "Ad Musica" with young musicians. She is making the complete Beethoven Violin Sonata into an album, and in March 2024, her first album <Inspiration> was released, which includes Beethoven Sonatas Nos. 5, 6, 8 and Korngold's 'Much Ado About Nothing' Suite Op. 11.
She performs with pianist Oh Yoon-ju, with whom she has worked together many times, and conveys musical conversations on the album recording.
