Lim Ho-yeon Regular Album Vol. 2
There is a dazzling beauty that seems like it will shatter. It shone like a blinding sun, and it was as black and deep as pitch, making it impossible to fathom the bottom. It stormed like tearing away the most difficult part of life, surged like waves, and was as calm as if everything had disappeared after receding. In front of it, I couldn't help but be overwhelmed, and soon tears welled up. I couldn't figure out where the sadness originated. For that reason, some ran away, and some froze in place. Everyone called it differently. Some named it after the most vicious person, and some said that even if they brought all the adjectives in the world, they wouldn't be able to express it. That's what dazzling beauty was like.
Lim Ho-yeon's 2nd album [Salvation] is a record of a person captivated by the beauty of music. Like a sun that burns to ashes as you approach it, he was tormented because he was overly fascinated. The gaps created by the numerous discrepancies in life were expressed as seemingly misaligned sounds, and the constant efforts made to fill those gaps were expressed as breath and space.
The first track, 'Protocol,' lies between the atypical and the typical. The collection of sounds that repeats but doesn't sound like it repeats is ourselves, living the same yet different everyday life, and the variation that constantly runs towards somewhere is as precarious as the end of any day. The following track, which is also the title track, 'Expansion,' is close to darkness. What was small and light when first encountered has become sharp and leaves scratches, digging so deeply into the lungs that you can't breathe.
The third track, 'Vivid,' is like watching the movement of a single clear line. Following the guitar riff, the line curves, breathes raggedly as if it will break, and then draws a clear picture. The completed picture is as vivid as before, but too unfamiliar to approach. By the fourth track, 'Ralos,' the line exists in an irregular and unpredictable form. The combination of sounds that may pop out from anywhere is uncontrollable and comes as a physical shock. The following track, 'Undefined,' is like a person left alone on a world swept away by something. Uncertainty like anxiety, fear, and illusion, and the despair of wondering if there is any hope left. How can I get back on the track of life? The question comes first.
By the time you reach the sixth track, 'Time,' you can see the boundary. Standing on the boundary, unable to belong anywhere, he constantly asks himself questions. And everyone asks him. Who are you? But I can't answer properly. Perhaps the following track, 'Moderation,' is the answer to the previous track. It reminds me of a person standing on the boundary and walking a path that they feel they have no choice but to take because they believe they must go, not because they want to. All that remains for them is loneliness and solitude. In that way, what they loved most in their life destroyed them most easily. That's the eighth track, 'Zealot.' The last track, 'BLUE,' is the most beautiful wave rippling after everything is over. A blue and a wave that reveals the inside, and if you go deeper, you will be overwhelmed by the fear that you will never be able to get out again.
Red rose; passionate love, beauty

Salvation; salvation
Perhaps there is still a red rose in one corner of my heart.
I will find it before this rose withers.
And I will save it.

02. Expansion
It's a story about the disease I'm suffering from. It makes me avoid people, tightens my chest, and locks me in a deep place. It has gradually expanded and brought me to the brink of death several times.

03. Vivid
Every moment was so vivid. There was a time when I poured everything into music and burned my passion. Someone wrote me a letter saying they liked my song. Can I go back?

04. Ralos
Unable to sleep due to insomnia, I looked at the rising sun in the early morning upside down from a lying position and turned the jazz standard 'Solar' upside down.
