■ Product Description
The OST for “Maestra,” beloved for its highly complete background music, is now being released. Unlike recent Korean drama music that often focuses solely on functionality, “Maestra”'s background music is a consistently crafted work with original melodies, styles, theme music, and its variations, making it an excellent collector's item. Music director Jo Sung-woo, who pioneered a genre of Korean film music with his unique lyrical style, clearly showcased his distinct musical color through the drama “Maestra.” The tracklist for this upcoming Original Sound Track for ‘Maestra’ album was curated by selecting music used in the drama's most significant scenes.
This album features a total of 22 tracks, including 7 vocal songs such as Sumi Jo’s “Naegen Oneul” (To Me, Today), the original symphony ‘Sunflower,’ variations of theme music used in key drama scenes, and classical pieces embedded within the drama. Symphony 'Sunflower' movements 1-4 are separately included at the very end of the tracklist, while the remaining tracks are arranged in an order that allows listeners to recall the drama's overall narrative just by listening.
Befitting a drama produced with an orchestral backdrop, all instrumental music used in this series was recorded directly by domestic and international orchestras. Notably, Symphony 'Sunflower' and Sumi Jo's “Naegen Oneul” were recorded in Vienna, Austria, the home of orchestras, with conductor Han Joo-hun and the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra (RSO).
In particular, the sheet music for the 'Sunflower' symphony included with this album is the actual score for the symphony co-created by Kim Pil and Cha Se-eum in the drama. It was produced with an identical composition to the score conductor Cha Se-eum used herself in concerts. This conductor's full score is produced in miniature form and provided along with the CD, photobook, and photo cards.
