“If there's a destiny, will you tell me? Which orbit are we heading towards?
If no one knows, will you follow the path we create?”
Five girls, fitting together like a puzzle, stood at a new starting line, unfurling the name ARTMS. Initially, ARTMS was not a group name but the name of a program to reach an orbit, yet they were fatefully bound together as ARTMS. Heejin, Haseul, Kim Lip, Jinsoul, and Choerry – a collective called ARTMS, formed by girls who can each pursue independent solo activities but shine even brighter when united – quietly and secretly began new preparations.
The first project was to reactivate ODD EYE CIRCLE.
The girls who pioneered the most unique style in K-pop history, starting with their independent music 'Girl Front,' reunited and began preparing an album. The first song they worked on together in the recording studio was 'Lucid.' While not planned as a fan song, it's a softly sent frequency to those who waited for ODD EYE CIRCLE. A voice potent enough to announce the rekindling of the story that made the girls dream so long ago.
The title track was fiercely contested between two candidates. The song chosen as the title track is 'Air Force One,' a Jersey Club genre track that embodies ODD EYE CIRCLE's new style while retaining the girls' healthy steps. G.high, who produced 'Butterfly' and 'Uncover' among others, reunited with the girls to take on production after a long time. Working with a producer who knew Kim Lip, Jinsoul, and Choerry's unique colors and strengths better than anyone transcended time and was completed in an instant. Kim Lip, in particular, participated in the work, refining the lyrics to be even more vibrant.
The mindset of shedding the Converse, which was ODD EYE CIRCLE's symbol, and putting on new shoes. And the feeling of looking down from above, like Air Force One, the presidential plane. While it carries ambiguous meanings, what ultimately cuts through is the growth story of girls who have ascended to the next level. So we tie our shoelaces and Do It again.
'Je Ne Sais Quoi' saw participation from BADD, MODHAUS's music director who created 'favOriTe' and 'Rosy.' Meaning 'indescribably good' in French, 'Je Ne Sais Quoi' captures the feeling of inexplicable attraction. It features ODD EYE CIRCLE's unique sophisticated and stylish beat, making it a sufficient gift for fans who have been waiting for new music to be updated. Furthermore, Park Sohyun, producer of the junior group tripleS, who grew up listening to ODD EYE CIRCLE's music, participated in the song.
Additionally, the album needed a sweet song, but the desire was for it not to be a cliched sweet track. Ultimately, the chosen song was 'Love Me Like.' It's a candy-like song, but rather than a sweet candy, it's a candy with an ODD flavor. Moreover, this song is perfect for enjoying Kim Lip, Jinsoul, and Choerry's vocal balance. While ODD EYE CIRCLE is not primarily a vocal group, one can savor their harmonious voices more than any other vocal team.
The girls' secret playlist song. 'My Secret Playlist,' though hard to notice at first, becomes enjoyable as you listen, discovering it's a collage of titles and lyrics from popular Pop songs. We also hope that ODD EYE CIRCLE's new songs will be included in your playlist.
The intro track 'Did You Wait?' was the very last song completed after almost finishing the album preparations. To the fans who waited for ODD EYE CIRCLE for 7 years, the girls respond with the same words: 'We waited too.'
