Seong-Jin Cho's second album commemorating Ravel's 150th birth anniversary, <Ravel: Piano Concertos>, will be released on February 21st.
As part of his ongoing exploration of Ravel, Seong-Jin Cho performed <Concerto for the Left Hand> at Carnegie Hall in early 2024 with conductor Andris Nelsons and the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO). Regarding this performance, the classical music website 'Bachtrack' praised, “Cho’s left hand swept the keys lightly, powerfully, and masterfully, responding to the orchestra’s initial crescendo with thunderous dark harmonies and a breathtaking cadenza,” and 'New Criterion' reviewed Cho's performance as “unquestionably a model answer.”
Nelsons and BSO also participated in this album, which features Ravel's Piano Concerto in G major and Piano Concerto for the Left Hand.
Seong-Jin Cho ranked 5th among the 'Busiest Pianists of 2024' (Bachtrack), following Daniil Trifonov, Yuja Wang, Alexandre Kantorow, and Kirill Gerstein, and is currently considered one of the most elegant and outstanding pianists.
