The legend of British Jazz-Funk/Fusion!
Shakatak's 45th Anniversary Best Album, leading the global smooth jazz scene
SHAKATAK [45th Anniversary Collection]
Shakatak [45th Anniversary Collection]
Shakatak, recognized as a legend representing British Jazz-Funk/Fusion through numerous hit songs like ‘Night Birds' and 'Invitations'. Formed in London, UK, in 1980, Shakatak has achieved great success with their cool, stylish melodies and urban sound. This album, a best-of collection commemorating Shakatak's 45th debut anniversary, features their finest music, including signature tracks ‘Night Birds’, ‘Day By Day’, and ‘Easier Said Than Done’.
“It's hard to believe that this year marks Shakatak's 45th anniversary. Time has flown by so quickly, and we've been on an incredible journey. It feels very fitting that this album represents the time we've spent together.
The songs I've chosen for this album are a mix of old and new, familiar and lesser-known tracks. I deliberately selected some songs that weren't typically featured on previous best-of albums to create a slightly different compilation. Additionally, this album includes two new songs. One was co-written by Jill Saward and myself, and the other is a work by George Anderson. Along with the tracks from the past 45 years, I hope you enjoy these new songs. Thank you to everyone for your unwavering support, and I hope to see you all again sometime, somewhere.” - Bill Sharpe -
*Includes 30 tracks, with 2 new songs*
