Hello. This is Solar.

For my second mini-album [COLOURS], I tried to express 6 songs of different genres with my own unique colors.

This album aims to showcase my diverse colors, but furthermore, it carries the meaning of supporting and respecting your diversity, as everyone has their own unique colors—be it their personality, taste, or values.

I hope my message through this album reaches many people.

I've returned with a solo album after two years, and I'll repay you with great songs, as it took a while. :)

MAMAMOO's Solar has returned with her second mini-album after two years. This album, [COLOURS], encapsulates her aspiration to showcase her diverse charms through the keyword 'color,' featuring 6 songs across various genres.

Furthermore, the album title carries the meaning of encouraging the many 'us (OUR)' who live in the same era to find their diverse inherent colors (OURS) such as individuality, charm, identity, and values, and to create a harmonious and colorful world by respecting each other's colors.

Through this album, the artist Solar deeply explores and respects 'Diversity,' portraying her mature perspective, feelings, and values as she perceives the world.

The title track 'But I' is a blend of R&B and Rock genres, about not getting exhausted by those who hurt you, but rather getting satisfying revenge and shaking them off. In addition, Solar will showcase her diverse colors through 6 songs of different genres that resonate with the album's message, including 'Colors,' 'Empty,' 'Honey Honey,' 'Easy Peasy,' and 'Blues.'

'Colors' is a house genre track about how there are truly diverse people in the world, just like various colors. We all have different personalities and appearances. Even if we attract attention for being different from the majority, I believe it's just a difference, not a mistake. Every person deserves respect, and we are all worthy of love regardless of how we appear. This song aims to instill a lot of confidence in such individuals.

It's also a very challenging song for me, as it's the first time I've tried the dance genre called voguing.

At first, I was afraid of the newness, but thinking about the song's lyrics, I was able to overcome it quickly. I hope we all don't fear and bravely face new challenges.

The title track 'But I' is a song that blends R&B and Rock genres.

It's about how, though petals may fall temporarily because of someone who hurt me, I can bloom anew and get satisfying revenge.

There are many good people around who care for me, and we are strong enough to overcome things wonderfully.

I hope you don't get exhausted by people who deliberately hurt you.

This is the first time I'm doing a title track with a band, without choreography, during my activities. I've always yearned to challenge myself with Rock, and I finally got to do it. That's why it feels even newer and a fresh stimulus for me.

'Empty' is a song I wrote when I sometimes felt sentimental and lonely. I tried to write lyrics that accept that lonely feeling as it is. It's a pop ballad that harmonizes well with the lyrics, and I performed it for fans a few years ago as an unreleased track, but it's finally included in this album.

Singing 'Empty,' I feel I receive a lot of comfort too. I hope fans listening to this song also receive much comfort and empathy.

04. Honey Honey

As the title suggests, 'Honey Honey' is an R&B track with the most lovely and heart-fluttering lyrics in this album.

Coincidentally, I have quite a few (?) songs related to honey. It seems sweet songs like honey suit me well haha.

05. Easy Peasy

'Easy Peasy' is a folk song that delivers a message to the many people exhausted by the world.

There's a proverb, 'easy as pie,' isn't there? I used that proverb ironically in the intro to playfully convey that even though today was incredibly tough, I handled it as if it were nothing, as if it was 'easy peasy.'

I wanted to convey quiet, non-flashy words of comfort to the many people who struggle through their days, yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

06. Blues

The long-awaited sixth and final track! 'Blues' is a song in the blues genre, as its title suggests, showcasing my own color as a person.

It's not a very common style these days, but both the lyrics and music felt like they perfectly represented 'Solar' and 'Kim Yong-sun'.

I think this might be the most 'me' and charismatic song on this album.
