For my second mini album [COLOURS], I've expressed 6 songs of different genres with my own unique colors.

This album aims not only to showcase my various colors but also to support and respect your diversity, just as everyone has their own unique colors, whether it's their personality, tastes, or values.

I hope my message reaches many people through this album.

I've returned with a solo album after two years, and I'll repay your long wait with good songs. :)

MAMAMOO's Solar has returned with her second mini album after two years. This album, [COLOURS], captures Solar's ambition to showcase her diverse charms through the keyword 'Color' across 6 songs of various genres.

Furthermore, the album title carries the meaning of encouraging countless 'Us (OUR)' living in the same era to discover their diverse inherent colors (OURS) such as individuality, charm, identity, and values, and to create a harmonious and colorful world by respecting each other's colors.

Through this album, Solar, as a more mature artist, deeply explores and respects 'Diversity', portraying her feelings and values as she sees and experiences the world.

The title track 'But I' is a blend of R&B and Rock genres about not getting tired of people who hurt you, but powerfully getting revenge and shaking them off. In addition, Solar will showcase her diverse colors through 6 songs of different genres that penetrate the album's message, including 'Colors', 'Empty', 'Honey Honey', 'Easy Peasy', and 'Blues'.

‘Colors’ is a house genre song about how there are truly diverse people in the world, just like various colors. We all have different personalities and appearances. Even if we receive attention for being different from the majority, I believe it's merely a difference, not a mistake. Everyone deserves respect, and we all deserve love, no matter what form we take. This song aims to instill a great deal of confidence in such individuals.

It's also a very challenging song for me, as it was the first time I attempted the dance genre known as Voguing.

At first, I was afraid of novelty, but I was able to overcome it quickly while thinking about the song's lyrics. I hope we can all face new things confidently without fear.

The title track ‘But I’ is a song that blends R&B and Rock genres.

It's about how flower petals might fall for a moment because of someone who hurt you, but then they bloom anew, taking thrilling revenge.

There are many good people around who care for me, and we are strong enough to overcome anything wonderfully.

I hope you don't get exhausted because of people who deliberately hurt you.

I think this is the first time I'm performing a title track with a band without choreography. I've always desperately wanted to challenge myself with Rock, and I'm finally doing it. That's why it feels even newer and like a fresh stimulus to me.

03. Empty

‘Empty’ is a song I wrote when I sometimes felt sentimental and lonely. I tried to write lyrics that accept that lonely feeling as it is. It's a pop ballad that harmonizes well with the lyrics, and I performed it for fans a few years ago as an unreleased track, but it's finally included in this album.

Singing ‘Empty’ myself, I feel a lot of comfort. I hope fans who listen to this song also receive much comfort and empathy.

04. Honey Honey

‘Honey Honey’ is an R&B genre song with the most lovely and heart-fluttering lyrics in this album, just like its title.

Coincidentally, I have quite a few (?) songs related to honey. Sweet songs like honey seem to suit me well, haha.

05. Easy Peasy

‘Easy Peasy’ is folk music that conveys a message to many people exhausted by the world.

You know the proverb "it's a piece of cake," right? In the intro, I used that proverb ironically to playfully express how, even though today was so tough, I made it seem like it was nothing and easily accomplished.

I wanted to convey words of calm comfort, not flashy ones, to the many people who struggled through yesterday, today, and will struggle through tomorrow.

The long-awaited sixth and final track! ‘Blues’ is a song in the Blues genre, as its title suggests, showcasing the color of who I am.

Although it's not a style commonly done these days, both the lyrics and the music felt like they perfectly showcased "Solar" and "Kim Yong-sun".

I think this might be the most "me" and most charismatic song on this album.
