tripleS <ASSEMBLE24>
tripleS, the innovative idol group that shone as the brightest rookie, winning the '2023 MAMA AWARDS' Best New Female Artist and the '2023 Hanteo Music Awards' Rookie of the Year, has finally unveiled their 24-member full group album <ASSEMBLE24>. As the world's first fan-participatory group, tripleS has been gaining momentum by forming units and deciding title tracks through fan votes during each promotional period. Now, after two years, they have gathered all 24 members to release the <ASSEMBLE24> album. This album, created once a year with all members together, signifies their unity, with the first member Yoon Seoyeon and the 24th member Jiyeon joining forces for <ASSEMBLE24>.
For their first full-group debut album, fans cast an astounding 130,000 votes for 'Girls Never Die,' thus determining tripleS's first full-group title track. 'Girls Never Die' tells the story of girls who get back up no matter how many times they fall. In an era where fear of failure and intolerance for those who fall behind have become prevalent, the song speaks of how valuable and wonderful an experience failure can be. The song is structured in four developments: "Ordeal - Awareness - Overcoming - Us," a narrative that extends from tripleS's story to the stories of girls living today.
The highly polished track was created through a collaboration between EL CAPITXN and Vendors, who produced tripleS's hit songs 'Generation' and 'Girls' Capitalism.' The grandeur of a mega girl group is visually expressed through a 24-member synchronized choreography led by Choi Hyo-je, who choreographed for NCT and THE BOYZ. The music video naturally continues the story, following 'Generation,' 'Rising,' and 'Girls' Capitalism,' directed by Undermood Film, which depicted the daily lives of girls living in Seoul.
Befitting tripleS's reputation for great intros, the album opens with 'S,' an intro track depicting a girl with special abilities. Following the title track 'Girls Never Die,' the song 'Visibility' expresses the thrilling moments right before starting a relationship, broadening the emotional spectrum.
'Midnight Flower,' with lyrics co-written for the first time by tripleS member Kim Nakyoung, sings of a noisy flower that only blooms magnificently at midnight.
Furthermore, 'White Soul Sneakers' features tripleS producer member Park Sohyun in its lyrics and composition. It follows the theme of their previous work 'Black Soul Dress' by expressing a resolve to follow one's own path, regardless of what others say.
The album's sole R&B track, 'Healing (Chiyu),' is a comforting song that carries the theme that spring always follows winter, and warm days come after enduring cold times.
'24' is a song gifted once again to tripleS by producer GDLO, who created their hit song 'Rising.' It captures the spirit of all twenty-four members gathered together in this moment. The lyrics, in particular, connect all of tripleS's lore like a word chain game, expressing their narrative.
'The Other Side of the Other Side' is a unique track that embodies the fantasy of entering an otherworldly space. Led by Modhaus producer BADD, it mixes various genres to create a mysterious atmosphere, evoking the subtle dimensions experienced when falling into another world.
'Non Scale,' which received many recommendations from fans even during the title track voting, is a typical girl group style song. However, with 24 members, it balances charming vocal characteristics to convey a message that "my heart for you is immeasurable."
'Dimension,' which is like tripleS's theme song, has been newly arranged in a hip-hop style to commemorate the full 24-member group, completing the full-group version.
From their first unit Acid Angel from Asia, second unit +(KR)ystal Eyes, and then LOVElution and EVOLution, Aria and NXT, all the way to Glow. With every step, tripleS enchants fans with new colors, and all possibilities of this system, where various girl groups coexist within one team, have just begun.
