** Album Introduction **
XLOV 1ST EP ALBUM ‘UXLXVE (Unlove)‘
With their first mini-album 'UXLXVE', XLOV aims to redefine negative thoughts, emotions, and the stereotypes of various expressions connected to them, through XLOV's unique message.
They carried over the witty wordplay format they've consistently used since their debut, replacing the 'N' and 'O' in the original word 'UNLOVE' with 'X'. This primarily emphasizes the meaning of 'double negative', suggesting the possibility of negativity transforming into positivity, much like how a negative multiplied by a negative becomes a positive. They aim to additionally convey messages like 'We don't always need to suppress our NOs,' 'Thoughts or emotions that approach as negative have the right to be expressed as they are,' and by meeting like-minded individuals, 'Everything can ultimately lead to positivity or the right answer.'
XLOV's bold challenge is once again truly encapsulated in this album. Diverse thoughts, akin to the hearts of all beings living and constantly clashing with various emotions, are expressed through colorful genres and stories. It showcases XLOV's commitment to not confining their expression to a single genre, and their identity of 'freedom' is conveyed through various musical genres and styles. With the ambition, 'We are a genre as we are,' this album, along with the unique producing of leader and producer 'Woomuti,' aims to take steps closer to the public and their fandom EVOL.
The album features the main title track 'Rizz,' a hip-hop R&B track based on 808 trap sounds, followed by the sub-title 'Biii:-p,' created with powerful bass and wide synths, combining hyperpop elements. 'Scent' is an R&B number that adds a spoonful of sexiness to a sticky and dense track. 'Dirty Baby' expresses a voice longing for personal freedom over a sexy and dreamy groove, delivered in the Trap R&B genre. 'Kiss and Say Goodbye' is an XLOV-style ballad that portrays a mature breakup with dreamy yet beautiful piano sounds and melodies. The final track, 'Drip Drip,' is a harmonious blend of exciting UK garage drum rhythms and contrasting calm acoustic guitar. Among these, the lyrics by Woomuti in the main title 'Rizz,' sub-title 'Biii:-p,' and the first ballad 'Kiss and Say Goodbye' demonstrate the overall harmony and artistic sensibilities of the songs.
