■ Product Introduction
Yohrn [I Have Something to Tell You]
Humans have made great progress through language, but at the same time, language can also limit human thought and imagination. The emotion of love is complex and difficult to define, but being called by the word 'love' gives it reality and simultaneously imbues it with cultural preconceptions and biases. This album, therefore, wants to talk about the contradiction of living within the limits of language but wanting to break free from them. This album, "I Have Something to Tell You," expresses what needs to be said through the song titles. Without content, the titles expressed in decomposed language—Pronoun, Verb, Article, Adjective, Noun, and Conjunction—can become any sentence by the listener.
The source of this music, a type of Generative Ambient music, comes from guitars for three tracks and a Juno synthesizer for the other three. However, the recorded instrument sounds are fed into a Sampler and transformed into sounds that the actual instrument cannot produce.
I tried to make it as fragmentary and simple as possible. If too many sounds and effects are put into Ambient music, the charm of individual instruments and devices diminishes. Therefore, I processed the sounds with minimal work to allow the charm of the instruments and devices to be felt.
1.Pronoun
The played guitar sound enters a Sampler and plays freely. It repeats Forward and Reverse until it reaches the end, playing in directions even I cannot predict. Ambience sounds recorded on Hansan Island, a beautiful island in Korea, play along.
2.Verb
This music, played with a Juno synthesizer along with radio noise, plays automatically within a given key. I don't know which notes will be played or when.
3.Article
The guitar sound, fed into a Sampler, transforms into a continuously sustained, long sound that a guitar cannot produce. Each note of the guitar is stretched in different ways, creating unique overtones that, while guitar-like, cannot be made by a guitar. Ambience sounds of writing characters (Baek Seok's poem) play along.
4.Adjective
The Juno synthesizer also enters a Sampler and plays in a way different from the actual instrument, and on top of it, bell sounds drop like raindrops, with no knowing when or how they will be played. There's no rain in the Ambience Sound of walking on the street, but the bell sounds feel like raindrops.
5.Noun
This music uses five delays. All five delays have different tempos and sounds. You can enjoy the randomly generated rhythms within them.
6.Conjunction
I created sounds using only the Noise part of the Juno synthesizer. Various modulations create unpredictable movements.
