DRIPPIN 4th Single Album [Beautiful MAZE]
[Beautiful MAZE], an emblem of youth, unfolded with DRIPPIN's sensibility
A story of contemporary youth repeating love and separation, excitement and anguish
In April 2023, DRIPPIN showcased powerful performances and maturity with the release of [SEVEN SINS] within a highly complete worldview. Now, approximately one year later, they make a comeback with their fourth single album [Beautiful MAZE], which captures the essence of youth.
This single album [Beautiful MAZE] features various emotions of youth across multiple music genres, from the title track ‘Beautiful MAZE’, which likens love and separation to a maze, to ‘Get LOUD’, which delivers refreshing yet heart-pounding feelings, and ‘Black MIRROR’, which captures the anguish of two selves: the 'I' in a virtual world and the 'I' in reality.
The title track ‘Beautiful MAZE’ is a NEW WAVE genre song combining Synth-POP sounds with an UP-TEMPO rhythm. It expresses the pain of distorted love and separation, and the inability to escape from those emotions, through the metaphor of a 'maze'. The intro features a hazy whistle and escalating Drum n Bass rhythm, stimulating immersion and emotional depth, drawing listeners into the song's flow instantly.
Furthermore, the music video sets up the structural emotional territory of a maze, depicting a story of growth through love and separation, eternity and regret, like a game of tag. It also expresses the moments of escaping the confines towards new salvation in DRIPPIN's unique way.
The second track, ‘Get LOUD’, is a Future-Funk style dance song featuring refreshing synthesizer sounds and a bouncy slap-bass. Its fresh lyrics, capturing the excitement of falling in love, portray the vibrant image of youth.
The third and final track, ‘Black MIRROR’, is a kitschy dance song combining the Disco-Funk genre with powerful synth sounds. It delivers a well-crafted mood and aggressive groove through a simple, repetitive structure of strong-attacking kicks and snares. Furthermore, its captivating lyrics express the anguish of determining which of the two selves – the 'me' portrayed on social media and the 'me' in reality – is the true self, using ‘Black MIRROR’ to represent the mirror reflecting these two identities.
DRIPPIN, who will meet the public with a youth concept different from their previous works, aims to establish their own new territory through their 4th single album activities and continue broad engagements with global K-POP fans through various channels.
