Gregory Porter, one of the most representative jazz vocalists of our time, has returned with his first Christmas album, [Christmas Wish].
Recorded with an orchestra at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, this album includes familiar carols such as ‘Silent Night’, ‘Little Drummer Boy’, and ‘Christmas Time Is Here’, as well as original songs composed by Gregory Porter based on his own Christmas experiences: ‘Everything’s Not Lost’, ‘Christmas Wish’, and ‘Heart for Christmas’.
Additionally, the album features tributes to legendary musicians like Marvin Gaye's 'Purple Snowflakes' and Stevie Wonder's 'Someday At Christmas', along with a duet with 'Samara Joy', the recipient of the 65th Grammy Award for Best New Artist, on ‘What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?’. Porter showcases excellent interpretation and unique sound across various styles including jazz standards, soul, and carols.
Troy Miller, who has worked on albums for artists like Adele and Jamie Cullum, collaborated again on this production, following their previous work on the album [All Rise].
