IU's 6th Mini Album [The Winning]
This is my first album in my thirties.
The conclusions and details are different, but the energy is the same as when I was twenty-three. I've become an adult with blood flowing through different desires than the ones I craved back then, but either way, the essence of being a 'greedy person' remains the same. I erased the pondering question marks and drew exclamation points in their place. The first space in the new list of desires I'll write in my thirties is filled with 'victory.' Now I'm not confused about what I want. For the first time in a while, I find this version of myself fun again.
1. Shopper
The story of shoppers who sweep up what they want with their own tastes and standards in a store that never closes.
The items they put in their carts are very personal. They may seem too trivial, excessive, strange, or not very valuable from the standards of others or the world. But shoppers don't care. They listen to themselves to realize what they truly want and accurately choose items that will make them happy. They are simply satisfied as they fill their carts with their desires and tastes.
In this shop, the price tag for the value of their desires is only attached by the shopper themselves. They alone judge whether the choice is valuable or not.
What I put in my cart as a shopper are the emotions and moments I encountered at the 'The Golden Hour: Under the Orange Sun' concert in 2022. At that concert, I strongly felt desires of a somewhat unfamiliar resolution to me.
The two days of concerts, which I encountered while feeling a bit of burnout in my work, completely overturned the theme and atmosphere of this album, which I was preparing in advance, and my energy itself in approaching it. I wanted to put aside the easy and comfortable for a while and challenge myself again as if pouring it all out. It was the audience on that hot night that clearly organized my head, which had been circling in the same place without admitting burnout and postponing the completion of the album day after day.
Tens of thousands of voices came into me as clearly as one person's voice and awakened new desires. I crammed the courage and overwhelming feeling I felt as a result into this song. This time, I hope my voice will give those who listen to this song 'the courage to be sure of what they want.' /
An Electro-Pop Rock track with an intense sound.
Based on a cool guitar sound, various transitions constantly stimulate the ears.
IU's vocals repeatedly alternate between restraint and explosion throughout the song, providing a fun experience as if carbonation is bursting in your head.
The witty FX sources added in the middle of the song add to the exciting feeling of shopping at a market.
2. Holssi (Dandelion Seed)
In 'CHAT-SHIRE,' the first album I directly produced in my 20s, I compared my age to a flower.
Whether it's a splendid flower or a small flower. At that time, I believed that I was a flower that would bloom in due time.
In my 30s, realizing that not everyone in the world has a reason to become a flower, nor do they need to, I want to live as a dandelion seed fluttering in the sky. Like a tireless shopper, I want to wander around without a destination and put various options displayed in every corner of my world into my cart. /
A track with a unique composition based on Hip-Hop/R&B.
On top of the heavy Drum & Bass, IU's voice sometimes expresses the flexibility of an R&B singer, sometimes the confidence of a confident Rapper, and sometimes the cheerfulness and simplicity of children singing a nursery rhyme, radiating various charms through her vocals.
3. Shh.. (Feat. HYEIN, Jo Won-sun & Special Narr. Patti Kim)
'This is not just a story of friendship.
It's not just a love story either.
There was something more complicated between her and me.'
Names that beat me every time.
Names that don't go out of fashion in my heart.
Names that guided me to who I am now,
Names that make up me somewhere inside.

Based on deep Blues sensibility, it is a song that requires attention to genre changes depending on the singer.
The sound is configured to optimize the tone of each artist, such as IU's part with a Soul Blues feel, NewJeans' HYEIN part with an R&B base, and Jo Won-sun's part that transforms into a Rock sound.
The unique and skillful interpretations of each vocalist dealing with the same melody, the top-notch playing of IU's band members, and the voice of 'master' Patti Kim, who closes this confusingly attractive song, make you feel the diversity of generations and genres, and the harmony that encompasses all layers at the same time.
4. Love wins all
Some say that now is an era of great hatred.
It certainly doesn't seem like a time when love is prevalent.
In a gray world that is getting colder and colder with noticeable animosity and indifference,
Sometimes, wishing for victory with invisible love as a weapon feels absurd.
But from what I've experienced, hatred is always alone, even in moments of great momentum.
On the other hand, even while running away, breaking, and fading, love is terribly together.
Love has a good chance of winning.
It tells the story of those who strive to love to the end in a world that interferes with loving.
As an aside, there are two songs on this album with five songs that I dedicate to the people I love, especially my fans, and one of them is this song Love wins all.
From the age of eighteen, when my life suddenly changed overnight with unexpected great love, until now.
There hasn't been a day that I haven't imagined about fading. I vaguely thought it was lonely, scary, and natural.
But after thinking about it every day for more than ten years, my attitude towards it gradually changed
