Jeon Sang-yoon, known as "Korea's Ennio Morricone," has released his 30th-anniversary album 'The Scenes #' on analog LP and CD.
This album was recorded in the winter of 2023 at the [CNSO Studio] in Prague with the [Czech National Symphony Orchestra].
The CNSO Studio in Prague is a studio favored by world-renowned film music masters such as Ennio Morricone and Luis Bacalov.
Jeon Sang-yoon (1966 ~ ) was born in Seoul as the son of a displaced person from Hoeryeong, Hamgyeong Province.
He graduated from the Department of Western Painting at Chung-Ang University's College of Arts and studied music on his own, making his debut in film music with the original score of Song Young-soo's 'Seonyurak (1993)'.
Since then, he has emerged as a film music director through Park Chan-wook's 'Trio (1997)', Kim Ji-woon's 'The Quiet Family (1998)', and Kim Ki-duk's 'The Isle (2000)', composing over 20 film scores and earning the titles of "master who completes the mise-en-scène of the film" and "flower of the film."
Jeon Sang-yoon's music is characterized by its outstanding lyricism with flowing melodies.
These captivating melodies contain a special melancholy that makes the listener fall into sorrow.
In particular, the original scores of Shim Kwang-jin's 'Immortal Masterpiece' and 'Lee Dae-geun, Lee Dae-geun' are widely loved by music lovers regardless of the film's success.
The newly released 'The Scenes #' album features his particularly beloved original scores and newly composed songs, which he conducted himself with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra at the CNSO Studio in Prague.
It contains a total of 10 songs, including 5 songs from the 'INSTRUMENTAL ANTHOLOGY PART' with outstanding lyricism and 5 songs from the 'FILM MUSIC ORIGINAL SOUND TRACK PART' composed of the film's original score.
Ennio Morricone emphasized that "film music must be able to stand on its own two feet without the help of images," and Jeon Sang-yoon's music is exactly that.
The album was released simultaneously as a limited edition of 1,000 copies of 180g audiophile peach-colored LP and CD.
