In the Korean popular music scene, the custom of remaking past masterpieces is old, but the history of albums filled with remake songs, not just one or two songs, is not that long. 

Kim Kwang Seok, who opened the door to remake albums, released this album, naming 'remake' as 'Remake' for the first time in the history of popular music.

The value of this album lies in re-engraving the charm of faded folk music to the public by presenting remake songs that do not damage the artistry of the original song but contain more modern musicality and sincerity. The 「Remake 1」 album was produced as an interim check on Kim Kwang Seok's 10-year music career.

The album contains a total of 10 songs selected from songs that Kim Kwang Seok had already released when he was active in the group Searching for People and the Zoo before becoming an independent solo singer, and from his solo album. 

Among the songs, countless songs such as <Letter from a Recruit>, <Because of Love>, <Although I Loved>, <Write a Letter in the Cloudy Autumn Sky>, and <On the Street> are still loved by the public.

This album became the fuse for the remake album craze that swept the Korean popular music scene in the 2000s. In addition, it was certified as a masterpiece by being selected as 58th in the 100 Best Korean Popular Music Albums in 2008. 

With this album, which achieved musical achievements that surpassed the original song, Kim Kwang Seok began to be recognized as a singer-songwriter beyond a simple singer, and has since been evaluated as the legitimate successor to the lineage of Korean modern folk.
