KISS OF LIFE 4th Mini Album [224]
KISS OF LIFE 4th Mini Album “224” Release
- KISS OF LIFE, New album [224] released after about 8 months
- 7 tracks containing messages through freedom gained from oppression, liberation, and awareness
- A bold transformation to be presented once again with the R&B hip-hop title track "Lips Hips Kiss"
After about 8 months since the last mini album [Lose Yourself], KISS OF LIFE has returned with their fourth mini album [224]. Through the previous work, the title track 'Get Loud' and the B-side track 'Igloo', which firmly imprinted KISS OF LIFE's unique color, were listed on domestic and international music charts and caused a sensation. They showed a strong presence by ranking high in Asia, including Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Indonesia, on global streaming platforms such as Spotify, and the Igloo challenge craze that spread through social media once again proved their popularity.
In addition, the experience of successfully completing their first world tour [KISS ROAD] and directly facing and interacting with fans around the world became an opportunity to take the team's growth to the next level, and the musical skills and depth built up during that journey naturally melted into this album as a whole, creating an even more complete result.
“Today, Tomorrow, Forever”
KISS OF LIFE's fourth mini album [224] contains the narrative of a person's ego moving from oppression to liberation through the flow of time, 'Today, Tomorrow, and Forever'. This goes beyond a simple flow of time and is a journey to find the true 'self' through awareness, and a message to those who live forgetting their ego.
In the album, "Today" symbolizes the state of being oppressed by the gaze and rules of others, "Tomorrow" symbolizes the moment of awareness gained through questioning oneself and struggling, and "Forever" symbolizes the liberation reached at the end of that awareness, that is, the ego that has regained its true self. In the end, 'Forever' in the album goes beyond the temporal meaning and means the complete "self" as an entity that chooses and lives entirely on its own.
The visual of the album starts with the story of 'dulled senses'. It captures our appearance in which emotions and thoughts become blurred in a repetitive daily life. It may seem like a life that conforms to predetermined rules and flows, but it sheds light on the existence that struggles to ask and find answers to 'Who am I' and 'How should I live' even within that. In the end, the eternal 'self' that we face conveys the message that it is not something obtained through someone or something, but something that must be won on one's own, and depicts the process.
KISS OF LIFE, who have been pioneering their own path with clear concepts and music of various genres in each album, will show another new charm in the [224] album, which is an extension of that journey. With this album containing 7 songs of various genres, including the feminine R&B hip-hop title track 'Lips Hips Kiss', disco, and acoustic ballad, they plan to captivate the hearts of the public and fans once again.
01. Lips Hips Kiss - Title
'Lips Hips Kiss' is a song that captures the R&B hip-hop sensibility of the early 2000s, and expresses the feeling of falling for each other with sensual lyrics. The sophisticated melody flowing over the laid-back rhythm, the intense kick, and the bold hi-hat further enhance the feminine mood. It is a song that naturally leads the listener to that era with a development that is not excessive but not boring.
