Pianist Lee In-kyung
Schubert and His Last Sonatas D.959 & D.960
Pianist Lee In-kyung graduated from Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School, then completed her bachelor's degree at Seoul National University College of Music before moving to the United States. She studied under Arthur Green at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), where she earned her Master's and Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degrees. Upon her return to Korea, she became a full-time professor at Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), teaching piano, chamber music, and music history. She educates non-music major students on how music harmonizes with other disciplines, and the importance of music, including the emotional richness and comfort it provides.
While she spends much of her time as an educator in Korea, she is a pianist who never neglects her own development, performing consistently both domestically and internationally. She is known as a pioneering pianist who continues to elevate the status of Korean classical music, performing as a soloist with orchestras in the United States, Austria, Czech Republic, and Italy.
