“Becoming the master of one's own emotions, singing one's own story.”
LIPSTICKERZ announces their debut with the release of their first album ‘VESSEL’ and title track ‘Back To You’ on August 27th.
The masks worn by LIPSTICKERZ members are used not as a means of concealing their true selves (anonymity), but as a device to express emotions.
The first album ‘VESSEL’ carries the meaning of opening the prelude to this worldview. LIPSTICKERZ’s New EMO aims to embrace the musical characteristics of the EMO genre, but instead of negative messages, it seeks to express and talk about individual inner emotions. This is because expressing individual emotions in this era is seen as the beginning of true communication and can lead to empathy.
The album ‘VESSEL’ contains a total of 10 tracks, including the title track ‘Back To You,’ 6 songs: ‘MOTIVATION,’ ‘Tattoo,’ ‘Fake it,’ ‘Starlight,’ and ‘nanana,’ as well as ‘Back To You -Space ver.-‘ arranged with a unique 80s sound, and the instrumentals for ‘MOTIVATION,’ ‘Back To You,’ and ‘Back To You -Space ver.-‘. The diverse styles of tracks, including rhythmic and powerful sounding tracks, tracks suitable for a drive, and healing songs with moving lyrics, add to the listening enjoyment.
The title track ‘Back To You’ features lyrics about a changed "me" who "will no longer hesitate and will run to you," expressing the courage and excitement of heading back to the starting point atop a cheerful band sound.
Through the music of LIPSTICKERZ, who have joined the band scene with their first album ‘VESSEL,’ we hope to connect with the inner emotions of many.

‘Rapid escalation of impulse behavior’
The strong determination to change oneself is powerfully expressed through repetitive lyrics. Arranged with a band sound. The guitar was played through a vintage guitar amplifier, and the bass was alternately played through a guitar amplifier and a bass amplifier to ensure the bass line is clearly audible even with variations in listening environments. The vocal sound is spread out to be heard from various angles, with the core band sound at the center, allowing for enjoyment of diverse sounds.

‘Disassociation detected / mimicry of emotional patterns’
This track expresses a world where everything is false, where reality and ideals diverge. A slight acid-like sound creates a playful, groovy feeling. The guitar sound captures the performance of a guitarist skilled in 80's touches. Retro-famous synthesizers are introduced with modern effects to refine the groove in a contemporary way, while the drums, played live by the drummer, capture subtle differences in sound and nuances that cannot be produced by a machine.

‘Emotional regression toward origin memory’
This track expresses the feeling of a changed "me" who "will no longer hesitate and will run to you." It conveys the courage and excitement of heading back to the starting point over a cheerful band sound. A modern pop track depicting the journey of facing the fear of taking the first step and seeking out the "me" who once ran towards dreams. The love for that past self is conveyed through a retro track and sophisticated guitar sounds.

‘Delusional sync with external rhythm / resonance risk’
This track expresses youth escaping from daily life, shaking everything off, driving a vintage car through the dawn. It portrays a free drive from midnight to dawn, with a clean and deep vocal performance that completes a romantic and relaxed atmosphere. A striking track featuring a saxophone melody that adorns the intro and hook over a mid-tempo, languid electronic sound.

‘Emotional regression toward origin memory’
This track aimed for a unique 80’s sound. It has a driving feel and tempo, yet is somewhat poignant, evoking a slightly melancholic night. Sounds from Oberheim, Moog, and others are subtly present yet clearly audible, supporting the overall sound. With an analog approach within a digital sound, it offers a fresh feel different from the original track.

‘Uncontrollable vocal loop / transmission initiated’
Sometimes, a melody expresses more than sophisticated and elaborate rhetoric and words. There are times when seemingly unorganized sequences of words and situations are beautiful like poetry. With the lyrics ‘nanana,’ the artist hopes that their emotions will reach the listener through music, not just language, and that various feelings will be evoked in the listener by the repeated ‘nanana.’ This song is like a poem, characterized by relaxed acoustic guitar strums, shimmering slide guitar sounds like starlight, drums that feel on the verge of bursting but don't, and pitch-dark bass sounds. It's a song that speaks of beautiful moments and beautiful people, requiring only a single, memorable melody more than any elaborate phrase.
