Platform Stereo, formed in 2018, has consistently released popular songs and albums annually, rooted in synth-pop while exploring various genres. For four years, they actively performed in the scene, appearing at live clubs in Seoul and Busan, the Busan International Rock Festival, Naver Onstage, and more, until they abruptly announced their disbandment in 2025. However, after three years, they declared their reunion through an EP album and now aim to resume their active pursuits.
Platform Stereo, who previously expressed their music by mixing various genres with a synth-pop sensibility, now presents a dramatically transformed sound through this album, [404 Digest]. They draw inspiration from punk, post-rock, shoegaze, and other genres that defined the mid-90s to 2000s, which they grew up listening to.
The album is filled with heartfelt, honest lyrics and powerful, vibrant tracks. Through the title tracks 'Belief' (믿음) and 'Compatibility' (호환), they deliver raw lyrics and intense, straightforward punk rock. 'Tanhauser Gate' and 'Shane' showcase post-rock, dream pop, and shoegaze, while 'Wilderness' (황야) delves into synth-pop/city pop.
With this album, brimming with genuine emotions, Platform Stereo sends their warm regards to all of you living today and tomorrow. May our hearts be a small guiding light for those who bravely overcome precarious days.
