This is a rare piano trio album in Korea, showcasing a New York Straight Ahead Jazz style, featuring Jin-kyo Park, a cornerstone bassist of Korean traditional jazz, and Joe Farnsworth, a master drummer of New York traditional jazz.
Yan Kim's interpretation of jazz standards is rooted in jazz tradition while distinctly revealing his own sound. His original compositions demonstrate his perspective on jazz as an artist living in the 21st century, rather than merely longing for the golden age of 20th-century jazz.
